Terms and Conditions
Last modified: June 19, 2024
Welcome to Grant’s Handyman Services. By booking our services or using this website, you agree to the following terms:
1. Our Services
We offer a wide range of handyman services across County Wicklow and
surrounding areas, including carpentry, flooring, repairs, furniture assembly,
guttering, fencing, and general maintenance.
We reserve the right to refuse service at our discretion.
2. Quotes & Pricing
– All quotes are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days.
– We quote by the job, so you’ll know the full cost upfront – no hidden fees.
– Quotes are based on the scope of work, complexity, labour, and, when
applicable, material costs.
– If additional materials are required during the job, we will seek your approval before sourcing them. The cost of these materials plus a handling fee to cover time and transport will be added to your invoice.
– Alternatively, you may supply your own materials; however, we cannot guarantee quality or compatibility.
– A 30% deposit is required to secure your booking and cover initial costs. This
deposit will be deducted from your final invoice.
– If the scope changes after quoting, any extra charges will be agreed with you before
work continues. No additional work will proceed without your approval of an updated
quote.
3. Bookings & Cancellations
– We prefer bookings via email or our website contact form so you can send photos, enabling us to provide more accurate quotes.
– Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel.
– Late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) may incur a cancellation fee. The fee amount will depend on the circumstances.
4. Payments
– The balance of payment is due on completion of the work. An invoice will be emailed automatically at that time.
– We accept card, cash, and online bank payments.
– We do not offer credit.
5. Insurance & Liability
– We are fully insured for your protection.
– While we take great care with every job, we cannot be held liable for pre-existing faults, defects, or issues beyond our control.
– Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out. We are not responsible for any indirect or consequential losses.
6. Photos & Privacy
– We may request to take before and after photos of our work for marketing purposes, with your permission.
– You may withdraw your consent for photo use at any time by contacting us.
– Your contact details are used solely for booking and service purposes and will never be shared with third parties.
– We comply with all applicable data protection laws.
7. Force Majeure
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform our services caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, strikes, or government restrictions.
8. Dispute Resolution
In the unlikely event of a dispute, we will endeavour to resolve the matter amicably through negotiation. If unresolved, both parties agree to consider mediation or arbitration before pursuing legal action.
9. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
10. Health & Safety
– Customers are responsible for providing a safe working environment, including
safe access to the property and notifying us of any hazards or restrictions prior to
commencement of work.
– The work area should be reasonably clear of fragile or valuable items and free of
pets or other obstacles that could cause damage or safety risks. We are not responsible for damage to items left in the work area.
11. Subcontracting
We may, at our discretion, engage qualified subcontractors to perform any part of the
work. We remain responsible for the quality and completion of all services provided.
